Shows & Sales
Foothills Goat & Sheep Producers Association hosts and co-sponsors a number of goat shows each year. These shows keep breeders aligned with breed standards and current industry trends. Qualified judges help exhibitors assess the quality of their breeding stock. Shows also provide opportunities for producers from across the region to meet and learn from each other, and to promote their goods and services to the public. Our youth shows encourage and support those children who represent our industry's future. It's not just about winning and losing. These shows help youth gain some important life skills, including:
- How to get along with people
- Sportsmanship
- Responsibility
- Attention to details
- Decision making
- Goal Setting
We believe that goats should be evaluated solely on their merits, and strive to keep politics out of the show ring. Our show committee works to secure judges who are thorough and impartial in their work.
Our production sales provide opportunities to purchase quality Boer genetics to dramatically improve your meat goat herd. Our consignors are among the region's premier Boer breeders. They offer an amazing selection of show goat prospects and goats with show points. Percentage does, fullblood does, and fullblood bucks are available.
