Foothills Goat & Sheep Producers Association
Foothills Goat & Sheep Producers Association works to promote the goat and sheep industry in the foothills region of both Carolinas. Headquartered in Shelby, NC, the organization seeks to benefit members through collaborative education & marketing strategies. Major events include sanctioned goat shows, youth shows & clinics, and an annual Boer Goat Production Sale. Membership is $35 per farm, due January 1 each year.
The Association holds regular business meetings at the Cleveland County Extension Center, located at 130 S. Post Road in Shelby. We also coordinate educational presentations, demonstrations and field days tailored to the information needs and interests of our members.

FAMACHA® Certification Training
Thursday, May 31 from 4-7 PM
Cleveland County Extension Center - Shelby, NC
Learn the FAMACHA® system for controlling barber pole worm, the most damaging internal parasite of goats &sheep. FAMACHA® provides a tool to identify infested and anemic animals, reducing the number of unnecessary treatments. This saves money, reduces parasite resistance to drugs, and can literally save goats from poor performance or death. The 3-hour workshop will be held in the Extension auditorium of the Cleveland County Office Building, located at 130 S. Post Road in Shelby, NC. Cost is $10 (payable at the door).
