Internal parasites are the number one health problem affecting goats and sheep. Therefore, producers must develop an integrated parasite management approach to help control intestinal worms. To learn more about integrated parasite management for sheep and goats and become FAMACHA certified, there will be a parasite management workshop on Thursday July 23rd at the Cleveland County Extension office in Shelby, NC from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Pre-registration is required. The cost is $20.00 per individual or family which will include one FAMACHA card. Registration deadline is July 20th.
The workshop will be led by Jean-Marie Luginbuhl, NCSU Extension Meat Goat Specialist. Animals will be on site for a hands-on learning opportunity. If you have any questions regarding this workshop, please call Cleveland Extension at 704-482-4365 or Gaston Extension at 704-922-2112.
